    Developing a sense of Pride

    Developing a sense of Pride

When I think about my talent, I have a difficult time finding anything I'm good at. Seriously! And the more I think about it, the more depressed I get...I have no skills. I recently updated my professional resume and I feel like the older I get, the less focused I become. Maybe that's just me. I can NOT say I am a graphic designer, programmer, software developer, technical architect or data scientist. My resume looks more like this: effective collaborator, ability to un

Just when you think you are an awesome parent...

I love the outdoors! Our family loves the outdoors! This weekend we are going camping! But even this is not without its trials and tribulations. Its been fun all week thinking about hanging out with our friends, what we will do and what we will bring! You look around at your family and everyone is helping. Some are baking, some are packing, some are staying out of the way and you smile. "This is what life is about!" And just after you had the happy feeling of, "maybe

    Minimalism and Significance

    Parents: Listen Up!

    Parents: Listen Up!

I attended a session today. I don't know whether to describe it as great, interesting or scary. The topic, "Youth with Sexual Behavior Problems". I'll summarize a few things I learned along with resources I gathered. If you think your child has an abnormal sexual behavior, there are great resources available that can help (see below). As a parent of, what I think are "normal" children, who have not suffered any major trauma such as loss of a parent, abandonment or sexual
    Is your child a Genius?

    Is your child a Genius?

Yes! We are all geniuses! You are as smart as you allow yourself to be on a given topic or skill. I just read the most amazing book! Let's first talk about why I read the book. My daughter is "gifted". What does that mean? What do I do? How do I know what she needs? I don't know the first thing about raising a "gifted" child. So, I started searching for answers, reading and then I attended a seminar here in Kansas. One of the featured speakers was "The Gifted Guru, Li
